My friends have Yahoo as her homepage and it wants to set Yahoo search as her default search bar which She is fine with BUT bing has hijacked her search bar. She keep trying all the things she has found online to stop it but none of it works. When you manage search providers it won’t let you delete bing or set another search as my default. everytime you open Internet Explorer  you will get the annoying message that its been changed because Yahoo wants to change it back. Its annoying and you don’t want Bing to begin with!! Here Tips on How to remove Bing toolbar from your browser

  • First, check if you have live or msn toolbars installed? if so, uninstall them. Yahoo toolbar has something called ‘yahoo search protection’ to help prevent ‘hijacks’ of search/homepage settings. Some antispyware applications have a feature to do the same thing, so you need to disable that feature, change browser to the settings you want, then re-enable.
  • Then, Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > General tab …… wait about 2/3 second down on Internet options popup is a “Search” section. Click on the “Settings” button. Click on the search engine you want as your default. Click on “Set Default”. Click on “OK”, close Internet Explorer and reopen
  • Or, Also, open Internet Explorer  > Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons …….. under “Show” select “Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer” …….. locate an add-on for Bing and disable it.

Hope this tips can delete Bing toolbar and make your browser free from bing toolbar
