Version RTM (Release To Manufacturing) of Windows 7 has a critical bug that could cause the delay of the new Microsoft operating system, scheduled for October 22.

There is a critical flaw in Windows 7 in the RTM version (for its acronym in English for Release To Manufacturing), prior to that available to end users, which could descabalar the timetable set by Microsoft for the launch of its new operating system .

According to InfoWorld, the error causes the Check Disk utility in Windows requires an excessive memory blocking system without actually performing the task. The problem affects both the 32 bit version to the 64, and is classified as a “Showstopper”, ie it can cause total blockade of the operating system (the classic blue screen) to exhaust the available memory.

The seriousness of the failure could lead to changes in plans with respect to Microsoft Windows 7, the operating system with which the company wants to recoup the limited success of Vista and expected to recover sales.

Definitely not Microsoft will launch Windows 7 “E”, a version of its next operating system without a browser for the European countries.

Microsoft announced last Friday not to launch Windows 7 “E”, a special edition for Europe, even though the authorities have not yet given the go-ahead with its plan of the operating system has a window, a ballot screen, allowing the user to choose whether you want Internet Explorer or another browser.

Initially, the software manufacturer had proposed to launch a Europe without Windows 7 browser, named Windows 7 “E”, while European authorities were quick to point out that this did not satisfy their concerns regarding the abuse of dominant position of accusing the company.

Last week Microsoft announced its’ ballot screen ‘, so well received by users who have asked not only appears in Windows 7 to reach Europe, but those around the world. The software maker said on Friday that it has decided to launch the same version of Windows 7 for Europe than for the rest of the world, available the next October 22, after the computer manufacturers complained that having to use a version Windows without a browser would create panic among many users.

In addition to please authorities, and rival manufacturers, the new plan is also a relief to European users of Windows Vista that the previous plan, they would have opted for an installation from scratch to move to Windows 7 and not a mere update , as is now the case.

Windows 7 is the same everywhere. Microsoft has announced that it will not release the E, the latest edition of its popular operating system, one of the ideas that were discussed and it seemed the most appropriate to respond to requests from the European Commission.

Redmond had chosen to launch Windows without a browser until last week when the possibility emerged to offer multiple browsers on users, then published as Silicon News.

This is the latest venture that will launch a global version of the OS, which in Europe include the option to install other browsers.

Thus, Microsoft could please both Europe and the equipment manufacturers, who complained of the expense that they would include two different versions of the operating system depending on the market you would get the computer.

Less clicks, more agile and windows technology “touch” are some of the innovations of Windows 7, the new operating system from Microsoft. Up on stage and before hundreds of people coreaban clapping, booing and “live Linux” as the show progressed, the director of Windows Iberia, Luis Martin, the public has demonstrated the new Windows 7 applications such as touch technology from which it was conceived the new version.

To better interact with the screen, this operating system has larger icons, faster implementation and a new generation of programs designed to be touched, like the Microsoft Surface by which you can turn the soil with your fingers.

According to Martin, “dynamism, personalization and ease” to work on the desktop are the main contributions of this operating system that exceeds the former, Windows Vista, which “ended the debate and security.”

Specifically, Martin emphasized the distinction between memory management and the opening of windows to be opened until 50, and a greater range of functions, as they are “shaking” the mouse and appear and disappear in an instant .

The compatibility between applications has been another target “core” of the new version, for the first time, includes a “virtual machine” with which you can run XP inside Windows 7 and work with programs that work only in the first systems.

“Thinking about the environment and the user, energy saving has been one of the distance from Vista to consume between 15 and 20% less respect to these and other operating systems, thanks to the advanced settings screen that allows For example, lower the brightness or adjust consumption to the rate of operation of a film.

The management of recurring problems with warning messages in the past Windows has been redesigned and organized around an activity center, a button to get into these options to filter the virus alerts that are represented by red color to yellow, depending on their dangerousness.

Windows 7, which will be launched next October 22, will have an update and a full version of the more simple (Home Premium), 4 and 13 per cent cheaper, respectively, than those of Vista, according recommended prices for the European Union (EU) that Microsoft released.

The sales prices of the new operating system completely from the 319 to 199.99 euros, while the prices of upgrades ranging from 119.99 euros to 299.

Dave Heiner, vice president and legal counsel for Microsoft, explained in a post published an article, as is the screen through which users can choose the browser you want to install on your PC

The screen will display once Windows 7 is installed on the user’s PC. Will deploy and then display a list of major browsers with a brief description.

As shown by the previous version include Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, Fifefox 3, Safari, Opera and Google Chrome, although other browsers may be added to the list.

“Technically, this screen to select the browser is a web page will be updated as new browsers become available,” said the executive.

Importantly, this interface is present only to customers who have installed by default Internet Explorer (IE) and want to migrate to another browser, and will not be available for those PCs whose default browser is Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or Opera other.

In this way, Windows users have a variety of options when it comes to navigation software is concerned, and may return to this page at any time to install the latest browsers or learn more about them, because the links available Display choice of browsers connect directly to the appropriate servers to begin downloading the browser in question, “said Heiner.

For all Windows

This page can be integrated into other versions of Windows if it accepts the European Union, such as XP and Vista, giving finally ended the dispute in this field remain the Competition Commission and Microsoft. So if, as happens with Windows 7 as long as you have Internet Explorer installed by default on your computer.

“As you can imagine, it was not easy to accept the idea of Microsoft software to promote competition within a flagship product like Windows, but we believe that this approach is beneficial for all stakeholders: PC manufacturers, developers, and most consumers they wanted to remove IE from Windows, “Heiner said in his post.

“The European Commission said that our proposals so that users can choose web browser, and the obligations that we are willing to take to promote interoperability, the Commission bienvenidas.Esperamos were accepted in full in order to resolve cases by law of competition. We will keep in close contact with the body, and we will implement our proposal as soon as possible once it is officially approved, “the executive in his post.

Moreover, the key has been included on the blacklist, known as the Blacklist. This means that the system will alert the user that is not an original license.

It has also ensured that the key to the new Microsoft operating system will not be sold in any team for which Lenovo customers may be reassured and to keep a new serial. They have also stated that Windows 7 has a greater ability to detect hackers that activate the system illegally.

Thank God, they will be saying the chic @ s Lenovo and Microsoft, because what? Because the key was missing when filtering even a few months for the marketing of the new operating system.

Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, revealed his preference for ultra netbooks compared to the annual meeting with financial analysts. Although the segment NETBOOK means for the company 11 percent of its business in the consumer PC, preinstalled Windows XP licenses for low cost airlines to stop Linux is its toll on the revenues of Microsoft, that the output of Windows 7 top-level commitment to the ultra-portable, which would pass a better compete with Apple’s MacBooks.

Ballmer said that manufacturers were preparing for the holiday season (the highest annual consumption) to launch a large amount of ultra-portable models for customers who want a full keyboard and screen when going to buy a NETBOOK.

The CEO of Microsoft said that “when a customer wants to buy a NETBOOK with an adequate screen, sellers have to offer a notebook PC.” “We want the user to have a higher performance while maintaining a light weight and spend more money with us and Intel, HP or Dell, “he explained.

Like Intel, which sells donuts as the Atom chip for netbooks, but in some cases cannibalize other solutions of higher revenues and higher profits for the company, Microsoft has reduced its income to maintain the life cycle of Windows XP to slow deployment of Linux on netbooks.

Now, with the marketing of Windows 7 to be licensed at prices much higher than those of XP, the company expects users to raise their budgets to buy more powerful machines that netbooks, a little “monster” for manufacturers that economic crisis has become the segment of the PC for more growth, despite its initial conception as a machine for the education sector in the third world countries or emerging.

The software giant seeks to prevent a new and fine the European Commission, which accused him of abuse of dominant position to include the Internet Explorer on Windows

Microsoft has proposed to the European Commission to be a solution for users to decide what browsers installed on the new operating system Windows 7. The software giant and tries to prevent a new fine of Brussels, which accused him of abuse of dominant position to include the Internet Explorer on Windows.

The solution proposed by Microsoft is a home screen from which users can easily install, if desired, rival Explorer browsers such as Firefox or Chrome, set one as default, and even disable the Explorer.

With this proposal, including the Windows Internet Explorer 7. At the same time, Microsoft recognizes the principle that users should be able to choose freely their browser and posed method (the home screen) to get it, according to the Community Executive stressed. “The Commission welcomes this proposal and investigate its effectiveness in practice now to ensure that consumers can choose,” explained the executive community in a statement.

Brussels had rejected the earlier proposal to sell a version of Microsoft’s Windows Internet Explorer 7 without considering that this remedy would be ineffective by failing to ensure more choice for consumers. Brussels preferred operating system includes several browsers. The EU executive also revealed that the Redmond company has sent new proposals to improve the interoperability of Windows with the products of its rivals. Also in this case, Brussels announced that it will investigate the specific effects before reaching a conclusion.

The EU executive sent Microsoft a Statement of Objections on 15 January 2009 with allegations of abuse of dominant position to include in Windows Explorer. Brussels believes that it harms competition among Internet search engines, undermines innovation and reduce choice for consumers, because Windows is present in 95% of computers. The European Commission has already imposed three fines Microsoft amounting to almost 1,700 million euros. The first, in March 2004, worth 497 million euros for abusing its dominant position and the second in July 2006, which amounted to 280.5 million euros for failing to provide sufficient information on interoperabildad .

In February 2008 imposed a new penalty of 899 million euros, the highest in EU history for a single company, charging an excessive price for the information it supplies to rivals so they can make products compatible with your system Windows.
