It has been about a month since I started experiencing a Bing and has gone quite well. On the search results are as good as Google, sometimes better. After a month, but I decided to go back to Google. The problem is not with the search results quality, but all the other things that Bing does not – and some things I did not.

I at least a dozen searches a day. Google’s page-nonsense and is not boring, with nothing to distract you from your goal of entering search terms and getting on with their work. Bing, on the other hand, opens with a amazing page full color distraction. Well, I will seek … wow, Morocco, how exotic! I’d rather be there than sitting at my desk, but 11 in the morning and I really need to get a job done … What I was looking for again?

They do not have much space on the page, but searches related images, however, is distracting. It’s great to know that I can find “Deals on the water slides and some ice cream treats,” but now I have to get some work done. The “What other people are looking for now” section at the bottom of the search page is usually full of celebrity gossip. In recent months I have received a thorough education about Jon and Kate, Tye Strickland, Maria Chapura, vitiligo and other important issues facing our society. This environment gives me the impression that I’m in the wrong place if I’m interested in doing serious business searches.

When I want to know what’s happening in the world, the Google personalized search and news pages to do a better job of delivering the news you want Bing search. Bing can I get my e-mail the results of a keyword search, but I can not see a personalized page with the search results I want. Bing just does not match the depth of features offered by Google and not integrate with the way in which Google. Microsoft has a mix of services under Bing, Live, MSN, and with the potential to compete with Google, but they need better organization.

Microsoft also has to drop the hammer on sites that use cloaking Exchange experts. If you reach a page from Google Experts Exchange, see the full debate on the subject that probably brought you to the page. You may have to move much, but the actual content is at the bottom. Let there since Bing, however, the actual content and not be there. All you see is an invitation to pay so you can see the answer. If you tried that with Google, which could be expelled from the search results.

He ’s been two weeks since Microsoft has finally unveiled the new research and improved Bing, but there ‘ s already a consensus that the changes were mostly cosmetic. Our Joe Tartakoff noted that the quality of Bing of ’s search results still didn ‘ t measure up Google in ’s, and TechCrunch noted that Bing ‘ s jump to leapfrog on top of Yahoo search to the number two spot was short-lived. But new data from eye-tracking user experience searching the central findings of the user closes Bing ‘changes cosmetic s could eventually turn into a major advantage for search advertisers.

The company has studied a small group of researchers, giving them four specific questions so that they ‘d get the same results on Google and Bing? and found that users were much slagBing to watch the search ads on the right side of the page. On average, 42 percent of researchers have looked Bing those sponsored links, while just 25 percent were on Google (NSDQ: GOOG). The difference didn le ‘t extend to ads that have appeared on top of organic results, it also didn ‘ t appear in terms of clicks, because the ad click-through rates were virtually identical on both engines.

But there are caveats. First is the small sample size. Central user studied about two dozen researchers for this trial; CEO Gavin Lew said the smaller size allowed for a more qualitative analysis (by face to face interviews) which supported numbers. Here ’s also the question of whether the Bing ‘ novelty s helped researchers ‘willingness to watch ads on the right side of the page; Lew said he could be indicative of an ad – friendly. Terril ’s three column layout, with related links on the left side, and sponsored results on the right side of nearly book-ends around the central content he said. Serre-books require users to watch both sides of the page, not just the center. It ‘SA direct contrast to the left-centric interface of Google.com. He added that Google has had much more white space between its core results and announcements of the right.

But theories of eye-tracking data and design can bring into ‘t compensate for the fact that the Bing ‘ s the results of currently aren ‘t as comprehensive as Google ‘ S. If Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) may fix this? indexing service located more quickly and increasing relevance? while maintaining the high level of user attention on paid search ads, then the Bing ’s interface of the new could actually wind up being a game-switch in terms of advertising research . The central user plans to repeat the study in a few months to see if the trend has legs, so we can certainly find out.

This week Microsoft Bing.com indicated to the world as a its new Search Engine, or as millisecond likes to call it, an engine of decision. It is a new manner of seeking the Web and can provide some interesting results. The millisecond did not lose any hour while placing the engine until work with the mobile devices.

You can reach the site by m.bing.com of typewriting in your telephone ‘navigator of S or by visiting the mobile page of spoil heap and by introducing your telephone ‘number of S there. The site will send a text on your telephone with a bond which you can click on top.

Once you are on the building site, you can tell him your place and then to save it. It with the capacity to remember three places for you, at the house, work and a third which you can mark. These places are important for results of a search. If you seek coffee will initially try him to find that bar-restaurant around you. It will offer then to the top of the bonds to define what is a coffee, just as a traditional research could. It will also give you other local results like film times to the theatres or weather forecasting neighbors.

The spoil heap for the mobile also makes the cartography. Once you make place your place on the banner page, just type on directions and known as-then him where you want to go. It will bring to the top a chart with directions of drive. If you have a device of Windows Mobile you could always download the interactive application of chart, but not each one has Windows Mobile and even if you made, if you employ charts economically, a Web page is time with other easier than installing an application and establishing it. Once you have the directions, you can commutate it with the directions of walk or the directions of drive which avoids the traffic if the statute of the traffic is constant in your sector.

If you enter the spoil heap the ‘preferences of the banner page, you can place it to filter your results to block outside explicit results or not, and the known as ones that if you to leave through with the real Web site when you click it on top or let the spoil heap restructure the page thus with him functions better on your telephone. I tested this on some sites and that functions reasonably well. Once you are in a page composed by spoil heap, you can quickly commutate with the full site without modifying your preferences via a bond in bottom of the page. There is also a handy navigator of reinforcement which will show you that bourdonn outside look at the whole page and then bourdonner allow you inside on the reinforcement which you are interested inside. This makes it easy to read a blog or an article of news without all the advertisements, history and tools for navigation which tend to return to seem to it sites horrible, difficult to direct and slow down to charge and return to a telephone.

I the ‘VE played with the spoil heap on my desktop machine and it has a manner interesting to return information. It hasn ‘t replaced Google (NSDQ: GOOG) for me, but with the difference in search for phase before him, it gained its place as a one of my suppliers of navigator ‘of search for S. With all the additional configurations that the spoil heap for the mobile offers in a place, it can become the Search Engine of defect on my telephone.

Bing Microsoft search engine was launched in the United States over the weekend, officially launched the latest attempt to wrest a larger slice of the online search market profit of the incumbent Google.

Since Monday, Bing.com presented a home decorated with colors of hot air balloons against a rise of the desert backdrop. The page also included links to search specific categories such as news, movies, shopping, maps, and Travel.

Also present were tabs that direct users to bonuses such as Microsoft “Cashback” program of research awards and links to pages for developers and webmasters.

Bing, according to Microsoft, is designed to provide a more functional than other search engines, including Google. Ie, applications for entry Bing yield not only information related to research, but also links to sites where users can shop and engage in other activities.

For example, a search on Bing.com, for example, flights to Hawaii, coughing real-time price and availability of information, and allows users to make reservations in real time. Bing said Microsoft will focus initially on four areas: making a purchasing decision, trip planning, find local businesses and research on health conditions.

With Bing, Microsoft wants to catch Google in search market share. But there is lots of work. Google currently controls about 64% of the search market, while Microsoft holds about 8% of the market, according to researchers at comScore. Yahoo, the number two player, holds 21% of the market. Microsoft and Yahoo have been engaged in many discussions that could still result in a research alliance between two companies or a Microsoft takeover of Yahoo in search of properties.

The company announced Bing to the D: All Things Digital conference in Dallas Thursday, ending weeks of speculation about the product.

Microsoft launches a number of products and technologies in Bing in an effort to present a coherent face to users. Redmond in the past has been criticized for offering a confusing range of products under many brand names such as MSN Search, Live Search and Windows Live Search.

Microsoft Virtual Earth mapping platform is now Bing Maps for Enterprise. Technology the company acquired through its 2008 acquisition of Farecast travel site was added to Trip Bing and his cash-back incentive program for research is now known as the Bing Cashback.

It is enough to force Google’s commanding market share of research remains to be seen.

Microsoft Thursday unveiled its much anticipated search engine – formerly known as the Kumo, now known as the Bing – the D: All Things Digital Conference in Carlsbad, California, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer as a boast Bing platform for smarter, more research beyond what its largest competitors, including Google, have to offer. Bing will be available to the general public from June 3.

According to Microsoft, Live Search replaces Bing brand. In addition, a number of platforms, such as its Virtual Earth mapping, will be rebranded as Bing functions, in this case, Big Maps for Enterprise. Microsoft will need much more of a rebranding effort, however, to gain a little Google search massive market share – 64.2 percent in the United States vs.. Microsoft meager 8.2 percent in April according to numbers released by ComScore.

Here are five of the next Bing giving it the animation needed to compete:

1. Visual Presentation

Microsoft in July 2008 the acquisition of Powerset, a developer of semantic search technology, it provides tools for a richer, more visually pleasing than the usual research presentation summary of the blue links from Google or Yahoo.

2. Keywords Help

In terms of research are being entered into Bing, Bing search function suggested keywords to help users reduce their research. If Microsoft can improve these keywords so that they go beyond what Google offers with its Google Suggest, he may start to seem more realistic when he claimed one of its “smart search.”

3. Shop-’Til-You-drops and hypochondriacs

The platform Bing is divided into four main categories: shopping, local, travel and health. If a user enters a search query in the context of these categories, Bing back on the results. For example, research in the “shopping” category bring back the results of research on prices and availability, and a search in the category would be health symptoms or medical research. For those who spend all their time by clicking “Buy” or freaking out on a tickle in the throat of WebMD, Microsoft can do when they want to go faster than Google.

4. Best Match, instant answers and Quick Preview

Microsoft is smooth, including some elements that lend themselves more to the immediacy of research, including Best Match, in which results Bing collects and what it deems to be the most relevant search link at the top right. Similar to Google “I Feel Lucky” search function, but if you did not know what “I Feel Lucky” does, you do not click on it with the intent to use it properly. Instant Answers also the “I Feel Lucky” coat with a little more clarity, offering one-click access to information in the search results. Finally, Quick View allows a user to hover over a search result and see a text excerpt from the page of this result – a look at the search results without having to click through.

5. It Microsoft

“Microsoft is the secret sauce of its marketing and its persistence warned,” wrote any Channel Editor / News Steve Burke in a blog post on Wednesday ChannelWeb. “Remember, there were few who Netscape felt invincible until Microsoft has been focused all its guns on the old blowing browser pioneer of water. “

While a passion for all things Google, I was extremely pleased Wolfram Alpha. I use it a bit and have limitations of its quirks and a little down. These restrictions make it will not be a Google killer, but it will be particularly useful to students and teachers. Since I was more excited about Microsoft’s “engine of the decision,” Bing, than I have been a Microsoft product on time. Could he combine the precision of Alpha driven by the wealth of Google?

During a break tonight, between work on the programming and make some updates to the site (and trying to block our chicks tweeting (a story in itself, I’ll stay with Bing for the moment), j got ripped bing.com. Although it is not, the site has an interesting video on Bing and what it can provide researchers and other search engines can not.

Perhaps it is because I can not get my hands on a live version yet. Whenever I can, I’ll go take a walk from a good “how can it serve our students trying to infiltrate from information on the Web perspective. For now, however, it appears that Google comes from me. Of course, he made a sloppy when he feels you want to buy something, but the ideas for the card when you search for a business, research, or predictive research are nothing new in Googleland.

Am I missing something revolutionary here? This is not my anti-Microsoft, the pro-Google sentiment. When I saw Alpha, I was really attracted to Alpha and now (and the students and teachers for Alpha), where its capabilities match my needs. I do not feel that when I watched the video Bing. I do that includes Bing credible sources, I guess from the defunct Encarta.

Ultimately, I left with the feeling that Bing is just a spiffed-up with Google tools such as Microsoft Encarta and Expedia work in the background. Talk back and tell me what I am missing.

Microsoft Corp. has had little success in competition with Google in Internet search market. Now is holding a flank attack.

Bing’s new Internet search engine, which has shown to the public for the first time Thursday, still provide search results for terms of one type of online users in it. But Bing was originally designed to provide a research experience much richer for those who seek information in four categories: shopping, travel, health and local businesses.

The strategy could be a strong Microsoft to pull users to compete with search engines popular in some research areas that also offer lucrative opportunities for selling advertising.

But even if Microsoft is successful, it still faces the problem that Google and Yahoo could simply duplicate the functionality of Bing. Search engines have a long history of copying each other changes in the interface.

In recent years, for example, all have begun to suggest search terms and to mix more photos and videos in their search results.

“If some of the characteristics is particularly popular, it would not be terribly difficult for Google to emulate this functionality,” says Greg Sterling, Internet analyst with Sterling Market Intelligence, a research firm.

Bing faces another challenge as Microsoft own research shows that over 60% of consumers say they are satisfied with the search engines. This does not bode well for the company’s efforts to feed Google 64% market share in the U.S. research, which far surpasses Yahoo 20% share of Microsoft and 8%, depending comScore Inc

Yet there is evidence are not the consumers to find what they want very quickly through the search engines, “says Frederick Savoye, senior director of Microsoft Research.

Microsoft’s research shows that one in four research is satisfactory on the first try. Most other force users to repeatedly refine their queries or click on the Web around the location before they need.

Bing Travel related research shows how Microsoft will try to one of its competitors.

The first results of a search for Bing, the words “flights from Seattle to San Francisco to include a link that shows a low return rate of $ 117. The search page also offers an icon of the forecast based on historical trends, what will happen to the price of tickets over the next seven weeks.

Links, powered by a search engine called Travel Farecast that Microsoft acquired last year, a Bing travel site that will enable users to link to sites to purchase airline tickets.

A search for the same terms on Google and Yahoo provides links to airlines and agencies booking websites, but not the price of tickets or predictions on how they will change.

Microsoft’s approach to go after the four categories of research mirrors other attempts were made to compete with Google by building so-called “vertical” search engines that specialize in results in the categories where Google results are perceived as weak.

In general, these properties have failed to get much traction, because most consumers prefer a single point. At the same time, Yahoo and Google have developed and deployed unique technology research areas such as local businesses and shopping.

Google and Yahoo say they welcome competition from Bing. “The research area is still in its infancy and there are limits on innovation and competition between companies, including Microsoft,” said Prabhakar Raghavan, head of Yahoo Search and Yahoo Labs strategy.

“Having great competitors is a huge advantage for us and everyone in the search space,” added the spokesman Nate Tyler Google. “It makes us all work harder, and at the end of the day our users benefit.”

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer presented the new competitor of Google and its new name – Bing – Thursday at the D: All Things Digital Conference in Carlsbad, California

However, despite a sparkling demonstration, and the rebranding, it remains to be seen whether Bing “ka-ching” of Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), and if both the name and resonance technology with users . The company’s search engine to date has been called Live Search, while Bing, the new search engine, was named Kumo.

That all changes on June 3, when Bing.com will live in the world and the Live Search brand goes away.

Rumors that Microsoft was willing to take the wraps off its rejiggered strategy research has been in the vortex of the blogosphere for several weeks. That’s when most observers expected Kumo code name, which means “cloud” or “spider” in Japanese, is the last name.

“We need a name that says it is all about search,” Ballmer said during a scene of questions and answers at the D conference. “We need to build brand value, and more technology equity. ”

Ballmer also assured the audience that the property has reported problems with the name – Bing – were treated successfully.

Names aside, however, the big question is it working?

“The proof in the pudding. If the buzz is out that Microsoft has a good research experience, who knows, they might be candidates,” Roger Kay, president of Endpoint Technologies, said InternetNews.com.
Taking a walk Bing

It is a race that is a bit difficult to appeal to date, however. The only people with genuine long-term experiment with Bing who were employees of Microsoft – who tried to Bing of several months – and a handful of technology analysts.

Two analysts who have had the opportunity to at least kick the tires before the launch Bing Both said they were impressed by their first attempts.

“Microsoft is finally giving his search [technology] a chance to succeed,” Matt Rosoff, Research Vice President for consumer products and services at Directions on Microsoft, said InternetNews.com. He Bing test for about a month.

[Live Search] results are not as accurate as Google, but [with Bing] I could not find what I’m looking for the first run, “said Rosoff.

Sue Feldman, Vice President of Research and Discovery Technologies at IDC, had a similar experience. “Practically all among the 10 to 20 results were very relevant,” she says InternetNews.com.

Microsoft executives, for a couple of years, has highlighted weaknesses in the search engines, citing an analysis that the number of 30 per cent of searches are abandoned because they are not what users seeking.
