  • Open Internet Explorer ( IE 7 or IE 8 )
  • Click on down arrow at the right of the search box
  • Click Manage Search providers
  • Select a completely different provider, like Amazon and set it as default
  • Remove both Yahoo and Bing (select the provider and then click on the Remove button at the lower right for both)
  • Close the Manage Add-ons window
  • Click on the down arrow at the right of the search box again
  • Click Find more providers
  • Under Yahoo! Search Suggestions click on Add to Internet Explorer
  • Check off the box Make this my default search provider and click on Add
