The popular Mozilla Firefox browser, a direct competitor of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, exceeded the ceiling of one billion downloads. According to an article in the web technology PcActual during today’s browser has come to be downloaded up to 24 times per second.

The figure does not mean that Firefox is one billion active users, the number reflects the number of times it has been downloaded since its introduction in 2004. Firefox is currently in version 3.5 and is one of the fastest browsers, behind only of Google Chrome

According to a recent study, just over 20% of Spanish internet users use Firefox to browse the Internet.

Browser wars

Microsoft proposed last week to the European Commission to be a solution for users to decide what browsers installed on the new operating system Windows 7. The software giant and trying to avoid a further fine of Brussels, which accused him of abuse of dominant position to include the Internet Explorer on Windows.

The solution proposed by Microsoft is a home screen from which users can easily install, if desired, rival Explorer browsers such as Firefox or Chrome, set one as default, and even disable the Explorer.

With this proposal, including the Windows Internet Explorer 7. At the same time, Microsoft recognizes the principle that users should be able to choose freely their browser and posed method (the home screen) to get it, according to the Community Executive stressed. “The Commission welcomes this proposal and investigate its effectiveness in practice now to ensure that consumers can choose,” explained the executive community in a statement.

The new version will automatically hide the menu bar, you may add sounds to certain events and to locate geographically. Be ready in 2010.

Mozilla already thinking about developing the new version of its search engine. The company has issued guidance for the development of Firefox 3.6 that includes the ability to automatically hide the menu bar, a change that molds to the user interface designs that Mozilla has started studying for versions 3.7 and 4.0 of navergador .

This is a key feature for those involved in the development of “plug-ins or extensions and other items that use the bar to control their creations. For web application developers, the guide includes an explanation to add sounds that can be played with certain events, such as the arrival of an email.

In the new version, the browser will not only provide latitude and longitude coordinates, but other terms located as street, city or ZIP code. The incorporation of options geolocation, which can display the location of a place and what’s around you, is one of the improvements most valued by those who have used the Firefox version 3.5, released in June.

The work being done with ‘Namoroka’, the code name is known in the next version of Firefox, it focuses on performance, integration with services such as dictionaries and web applications. It is expected that its development is completed in 2010.

At the same time, Mozilla is working simultaneously in the next version of its Firefox 4.0 browser, known as’ Firecat ‘. Like Chrome OS, has been chosen to take away weight to the toolbar and address, so the tabs will be displayed with a thick top frame.

Microsoft has announced that it will send a notification to current users of Windows asking if you want to install a browser other than Internet Explorer.

Still happy with the award of Microsoft before the European Union that citizens will be able to choose Old browser on Windows, Opera Software has been suggested that this agreement extends to the whole world.

Microsoft has been subject to European regulators who have imposed fines worth millions to the company for abusing its dominant position in the market. After having to launch a version of Windows without its Windows Media Player player, which incidentally have been sold just 3,000 units, the company has seen its browser, Internet Explorer, was under scrutiny and a few months ago announced that the next version your operating system, Windows 7, reach Europe without a browser, leaving the words European Union and angry to users, who saw future problems when connecting to the Internet because it would first have to install a browser, which could pose little difficulty for advanced users in the field of new technologies.

A company he was proposing to include as standard with Windows browsers competition, which was not accepted. Finally a few days ago announced a concession: the Europeans could choose through a browser screen that appears inside the Explorer. Although well received by Opera Software, one of the litigants, the Norwegian browser Opera creator wants to expand the scope of this concession beyond Europe, on something that so far Microsoft has not decided.

Not designed to compete against Google invincible, Bing was born as a tool to support resource for Microsoft products and consolidated the MSN portal.

Bing, released in early June around the world, functions as a traditional search engine and uses search engines developed by Microsoft and other search engines integrated in portals like MSN. This new beta version, which remains in operation today, includes an interface that unlike Google with your logo, your identity will be more a signal image of wallpaper that changes every day. These images are from photographs of high quality and that will form part of the library of images of the “collectors” of the Internet.

Indeed, Bing is distinguished from other search engines in the importance it attaches to the image search. It has several sections of image search and presentation is reminiscent of traditional carousels of photos of the graphics editing applications. Bing eliminates the need to search in different places or wait for the next page show the images. In addition, it incorporates various filters that can identify the images by size, proportion, color, style and face. Moreover, another major new offering Bing is the search for shopping. Ciao, a major in the field of online shopping and price comparison, was acquired by Microsoft in October 2008. Ciao is part and MSN to Bing in seven European markets (Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Sweden).

Ciao allows users to compare prices of about 7 million of products through thousands of retailers online and access the reviews and suggestions from other customers, available on video and text. This will allow consumers to make their purchase decisions based on opinions from other users.

Moreover, the Live.com portal disappears with Bing. By typing your URL, the user will be automatically redirected to bing.com

Internet Explorer is still popular in internet web browser especially when using it in company, school who partnered with microsoft. Anyway, many people want to remove Bing search engine or Bing searh box in Internet Explorer IE 7 or IE 8 .

Many people despise it, and they refuse to use windows search if it is a choice. Yes, I dislike Vista already, but this doesn’t help my computer experience either. Now, I will give you easy tips on how to change or removw bing search box completely

Well, it’s really simple. What you have to do is

Visit to Add Search Providers to Internet Explorer

In Web Search choose Google Search click it then accept it

Now, Bing Search Box is removed and you can enjoy Google Search Box instead of Bing

Using that page to choose Google as your only search engine should change the search window in the upper right search box of IE7/IE8.

If Microsoft has paid your homepage site to put it there I don’t think there is anything you can do about it. You can take a look at your user settings for that site (ie user account) and see if they will allow you to change it.

If you are using MSN or Windows messenger I don’t think you will have much choice.

Hope you enjoy this simple tips !!

Recently, many people asked me by email or comment why the Internet Explorer has lost tool bar or the menu bar after they installed a Windows Update. Of course, the “problem” was Internet Explorer 7 and the fact that the entire user interface has changed.

Remember, Internet Explorer 7 is considered a critical update (and the first time that a version of Internet Explorer has been promoted as such). The classic menu of previous versions of the browser (and virtually any other Windows application) is no longer visible by default. There are a couple of ways to turn back, but when it does, the result is not exactly ideal for some people. Maybe we are getting old and suffering and in their ways, but the person may be there is a solution for you.

One thing that many people do not realize is that the menu bar is actually still exists in Internet Explorer 7, and how you can access it by simply pressing the ALT button. A touch and that is ready for use.

Or maybe you want all the time. To achieve that in Internet Explorer 7, click the Tools menu (it has a little gear icon) and select “Menu Bar” from the options there. Now you have the menu bar back to full time and can make its File, Edit, View, etc. all the things you want.
But when you enable menu bar, which actually appears below the address bar, which is a bit strange for some people. Worse, you can not unlock, then drag and drop the menu bar to change things, because the address bar is not in the draggable / droppable UI List things. everything that appears below it.

Many of you may get tired while trying to access Hotmail Inbox with Bing Search Engine but the browser didn’t give you any access to your messages !

Here is some issues that have been asked to me regarding this Hotmail issues on Bing Search Engine

I have tried for more than an hour to my inbox, but I keep getting Windows Bing page that loops me by all search options, but leave me my messages! It is crazy, this is a kind of guerrilla advertising, corporate e-mail accounts hostage while a new product is touted?

Yes, I have the same problems. I sign into Hotmail via www.hotmail.com, then leads to a “bing” search. Everything I click just loops back to this page. It is always on my nerves if I need an important e-mail that my friend sent me. Whats the big deal? An opinion on how to access my e-mail?

Omg! I have the same problem as well.

Basically when I try to login using www.hotmail.com would consider me Bing search page with “Windows Live” in the search criteria. (I think Bing is Microsoft’s search engine.)

Unfortunately I can not access my inbox, as it would look Bing me to the search page.

Please advise and Microsoft staff please fix this as soon as possible!

Well, this problem with you redirected to Bing.com already been established by Microsoft. Try to optimize your browser settings as a first step in case you still have the same problem. For steps on how to do this visit the following link:

https://windowslivehelp.com/solutions/accounts/archive/2009/03/03/How-to-optimize-Internet-Explorer-browser.aspx

Note: If you have a browser other than Internet Explorer, see the documentation for that browser.

Anyway, there is more simple way since I tried this in my Internet Explorer browser, and it still left me by Bing. I can not using either Firefox (my usual browser) and I keep getting more frustrated. But I try to log into hotmail with old@hotmail.com address, and that worked. surprising. Given I do not use this account if it was useless.

Many of you do not like this BING a new search engine introduced by Microsoft in the beginning of June , nor am I

Please note that this issue are not related with an issue with Internet Explorer. You can not choose to not using BING since Microsoft have made the change on their servers from Live Search to Bing. In short term, Everyone going to live.com ends up at bing.com.

Anyway, you can turn off Bing. Well the procedure is the same with the tips that I already post before, and it will take you just a few seconds.

In IE 8, there is Tools or manage addons.

Click on search providers than Click on Bing

Click remove. Or, if you want to keep it but not as default, click on the search provider you want to be default, click set as default.

Now, your Internet Explorer 8 are free from BING
